Is there an at home remedy for yeast infection?

22nd January, 2010 - Posted by admin - 6 Comments

I think i may have a yeast infection. I looked up the symptoms and it seems as though i may have it. However i would like to know if there is an at home remedy rather than a cream or medication.
Also, if i let it heal alone, will it take very long?
at this point right now, it is not too bad, its just uncomfortable and i´d just rather not have it.

my symptoms: Very itchy at times, discharge that is sometimes white, more discharge than normal

Thanks for your help!

If you do nothing, it will probably take your period to stop the infection. Don’t use tampons during the period.

Also, don’t scratch it as it will make it worse.

You can try a couple of things.

* Vinegar & Water Douche
* Tea Tree Oil & Water Douche
* Yogurt – External & Internal
* Inner Health Tablets (take a lot when you’ve got an infection – I’ve done 10 a day)
* Garlic Tablets
* Diet – eat less Sugar as this feeds the candida & don’t eat anything with Yeast in it (Beer, bread etc)

If you skin is really sore, put some vaseline to stop the rubbing.

However, it would be best to go see a doctor. It maybe something else that may need attention.

You will need to get over the counter medicine from pharmacy. A good prevention is to eat yogurt everyday. The cultures in it can help prevent yeast infections (take especially if on an antibiotic). But you will need to be treated to get rid of it completely.

Try plenty of yogurt.

My doctor told me to try this while I was pregnant and the creams were iritating.

immediate relief from the itch can be had with a vinegar and water douche, but don’t do it more than once a day.
Also, plain (no fruit or flavorings) live culture yogurt inserted vaginally will sometimes take care of a yeast infection.

No, there isn’t. Also, buying over-the-counter creams may do more harm than good. It would be best to see a doctor so that they can tell what it actually is. You don’t want to be treated for something you don’t have.

I took some Garlic pills and was successful. It has some sort of anti-fungus that kills bacteria. Very inexpensive. I think when you take antibiotics from the doctor it just covers up the problem. Try to stay away from foods with high sugar content. Like bread, pasta, rice, beer, and junk food. Garlic should take care of it.
